The Green Scene: Yes! You Can Live Green, Here's How!

The words eco-friendly and green are now part of our daily existence, and although we're surrounded by green efforts, many of us have not truly embraced a green lifestyle for various reasons like: I don't have enough time; I don't understand what green is; or I can't afford it. The fact is, yes, we can live green. We do have the time, the energy and the resources to infuse green practices into our everyday living, in a practical and harmonious manner for us. It's a matter of learning how and taking simple steps.

The Green Scene: How Can We Live a More Earth Friendly Lifestyle?

As our consciousness evolves so does the realization that we must protect the resources of the environment in which we live, Mother Earth. As a result, more people are interested in being “green.” Exactly what is being “green” you ask? We found a pretty good answer on Yahoo.com that states “Green is a generic term used to label any product or action meant to help the environment.” Many people are confused and feel that helping the environment is a difficult and expensive task. In actuality there are simple steps you can take to be green, without expending a lot of money or time.

What is your definition of being green, and what steps do you take to conserve and help our environment – be green? Let’s share and learn from each other. Don’t do anything to help the environment right now? Why Not?

Investing in the post recession world

The sky is falling, the globe is warming, my country's warring, leaders are lying, time is running… John Legend This is pretty much the backdrop in which we are making our financial decisions today. Chicken Little would be right at home with the fear running rampant in the world we have made up. Despite the declared end of the recession by Warren Buffet, the roller coaster ride continues. Last week stocks again were pushed to one-year highs as the market continued its rally. Then markets closed down as a surprising housing report regressed to show a decline in home sales last month. Unemployment claims were down mid September, then up again at the end of the month. Other currencies continue to gain value over the dollar, pushing the dollar out of its long held position as the base currency for the world. World economics will never go back to the good old days, where the US was the pack leader. With all this perceived chaos set in motion, what kind of investment strategy is best? What’s a sister to do?

Join us on Saturday October 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. on our Blog Talk Radio show with our special guest, Patricia Stallworth, financial specialist and author, for tips on how to manage and invest money, especially in difficult economic times. Your response to our blog will be read on the air during the show. Click the Blog Talk Radio button to the right for more information.

Money on your mind?

Money is one of the main things all individuals think about, no matter what their walk of life. It provides the material necessities and wants that make this life comfortable. While money in itself can't bring you joy, the perception of the lack of money isn't any fun either. People who have lots of money try to maintain and increase it. While people who feel they don't have enough money, and want more, worry about how to get it . Either way, dis-ease about money leads to fear and disappointment. Is it the money that we want, or is it the feeling of ease that financial freedom brings? How do we develop a better relationship with money to attract that feeling of financial freedom and well being?

Man-sharing Is It an Option?

Man-sharing continues to be a contentious subject for many women, even though through out history women have been knowing, but more often unknowing, participants in these relationships. As our social and financial landscapes evolve, have we too evolved? Do we have the capacity to except him and her in a harmonious man-sharing relationship? Are we there?

Sisters: Differences Don't Have to Make a Difference!

Yes, it's a fact, we don't all look alike, pray alike, have the same background, or even have the same moral values. While eyes can see we are definitely not the same on a physical level, our hearts can feel that we all want love, peace, happiness and everything that comes with these harmonious attributes.

So, why don't we erase the tape of separation that perpetuates judging ourselves as better than or less than; and record a new script celebrating our universal similarities and shared interests as women?

Is White or light truly right? Are Asians smarter, or Blacks and Latinas more sensually alluring? Who started these myths and why? Can we open our minds to see beyond perception?

Sisters In Spirit inspires women to trust our non-physical “mind–to-mind” connection, to get to the shared interests for a life filled with harmony and well being. With unity as our goal, we'll find we have a fluid connection on so many levels.

We invite you to examine the barriers that keep us divided, and to share actionable ways we can heal and grow spiritually, Sisterly, together. Let's address it, "How can we not allow the differences to keep us separated?”
