As our consciousness evolves so does the realization that we must protect the resources of the environment in which we live, Mother Earth. As a result, more people are interested in being “green.” Exactly what is being “green” you ask? We found a pretty good answer on Yahoo.com that states “Green is a generic term used to label any product or action meant to help the environment.” Many people are confused and feel that helping the environment is a difficult and expensive task. What is your definition of being green, and what steps do you take to conserve and help our environment – be green? Let’s share and learn from each other. Don’t do anything to help the environment right now? Why Not?

For me, being green is minimally disturbing the balance of the earth and other inhabitants, whether it be the earth itself or it's host of inhabitants that we share this time and space experience with. We've developed a lot of bad habits through focusing on convenience and capitalism that are not in tune with the balance of the planet, from gas guzzling SUVs to 5 bedroom homes that only 2 people live in, to pesticides and preservatives. I have begun organic gardening, try not to drive at all at least once a week, use a mug at work instead of a disposable cup, and pay bills on line. I'm working on remembering to bring my shopping bags with me to the grocery, and could do better with recycling bottles and plastic ... It's all a matter of changing and re-channeling those bad habits.
i have started doing little things like changing ligh bulbs and turning the lights off and unplugging electronics that are not in use. Not sure what the next steps would be, what's next?
There are so many ways you can go green. Many times it's the way things were done in the past. The things that our grandparents did naturally.
